"What must I do to be saved? ...believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved."
Acts 16:30-31

The Lord Jesus Christ said: "For where two or three are gathered unto my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20

Welcome

Welcome to the home page of the Livingston Gospel Hall Assembly. What is the Livingston Gospel hall Assembly and what do we represent? It is the meeting place of an Assembly of Christians who gather unto the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the One who is the Lord and Savior of His people (Acts 4:12), the Head of His Church (Ephesians 1:22), and Who alone is the gathering center of the Church (Psalm 50:5; Matt. 18:20).

We are a fellowship of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior. This is why we prefer to bear only His Name and such names that embrace all His children, such as saints, disciples, believers, brethren, etc. By gathering in His Name alone we are assured, and can claim the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He is in our midst as he stated in Matthew 18:20. Thus, a basis is formed for a scriptural fellowship where true believers can enjoy all their spiritual privileges and assume their responsibilities (Acts 2:41-42). Our fellowship has no denominational affiliation but is self-governed and self-supported.

Our way of gathering is simple and our practice is limited to only those things we find in the New Testament. As an example, and it may appear old fashioned to many, we practice the remembrance supper, also known as the "breaking of bread", weekly. To many this is too often, and seem outmoded, but how can one ignore the words of the Holy Scriptures, that says, "as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death until He comes" 1Cor. 11:26. How can we not remember the loving words of our gracious Lord Who died to pay the penalty for our sins on the cross of Calvary when he asks of us, "this do in remembrance of me" Luke 22:19-20.

Our objective, first and foremost, is to obey and honor our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, we preach the Gospel so others will become Christians; we teach the Bible to children of all ages who attend our Sunday school, we baptize all who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and provide for them a healthy spiritual environment in which to mature. We are not in any sense a large gathering of Christian, such as the mega Churches of our times, but we enjoy the privilege of worshipping and serving Christ in a manner similar to that of the early believers.

Among us are people from many nationalities and professions, people who have experienced in their lives a true born again event. We have been saved, not because we have merited or worked for God's salvation, but through believing on Christ as the only Savior from sin (Ephesians 2:8-9).

We do not accept nor are we affiliated with any sectarian or denominational names. The Church as found in the Greek New Testament is called simply "assembly, a calling out". Those who are the leaders among us are known as elders (overseers), and deacons (Acts 20:17,28, Philippians 1:1).

We would be happy to have you visit us in Livingston. We are easy to find on Rt. 10, about 1 mile south and east of Interstate Route 80, exit 6- Laurel Ave., (see directions ). You may find us interesting, of course we would be more than interested in you. Please know that we never accept money from visitors.
